Can I take the GED test online in a different state?
Yes, it’s possible! If your state doesn’t allow online testing, you can take the GED test online in a different state that has no residency requirements. You can find a list of these states.
Students are often advised by the GED support team to change their testing state to one without residency requirements while keeping their home address unchanged.
When students pass, the official GED diploma and score report are usually mailed to the address provided during registration. Some states also allow students to download a digital version of their diploma right away, which can be used while waiting for the physical copy to arrive.
Please note: We offer online GED classes, not the test. When in doubt, contact GED.com to clarify any questions about testing requirements
