I’m not a U.S. citizen, can I take the GED test?

U.S. citizenship is not a requirement to take the GED test. Adults who aren’t U.S. citizens can take the test and earn a high school equivalency credential. Onsego helps you prepare for the GED® test.

You can join Onsego at any time; we don’t have age or citizenship restrictions.

To take the GED test, you need to create an account on GED.com. Students are generally eligible to take the GED tests if they meet all other state and federal requirements.
